David James Dempsey

It is with great sadness that I announce the unexpected passing of my son, David James Dempsey. Age 57, on December 29th, 2024, in Orlando, FL.

Born July 15th, 1967, in Morris town, NJ to Janis Salvucci Dempsey and the late Robert John Dempsey Jr.

The family moved to Orlando, FL when David was five years old. David attended Lake Silver Elementary School, Robert E. Lee Middle School and Bishop Moose High School. He followed in his Father’s footsteps working in residential and commercial construction. He also built stages, stage sets, movie and television sets, etc. for various conventions, the Home Shopping Network, Gaylord Palms Hotels, Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines and Universal Studios Orlando.

David was briefly married to Rhonda Frees in 1985. They had no children. David is survived his Mother Janis Salvucci Dempsey. Niece Kirsten Dempsey Evans and Great Nephew Thomas Joseph Dempsey, all of Port Richey, FL and his Brother Thomas Robert Dempsey of Orlando, FL.

David loved to travel, fish and camp. David was a devout fan of the New York Yankees and Ney York Giants, as well as Orlando City Soccer. Davis was an avid reader and aspiring novelist. He loved music, especially classic rock and attended many concerts such as Van Halen, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Eagles, Bob Seger, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor…the list goes on & on!

Daniel was predeceased by father Robert John Dempsey Jr, his aunt Irene Dempsey and paternal r=grandparents Mary (Flynn) and Robert John Dempsey Sr. Also his maternal grandparents William Aldo Salvucci and Hazel Davis Doherty & Joseph Francis Doherty.

Memorial Service to be held Thursday January 16th. 2025 at 11:00 AM at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church at 12321 Canton Ave Hudson, FL 34669. Refreshments to follow in the Church Fellowship Hall.
