William (Bill) Dayton, born in November of 1944, was a lifelong resident of his beloved home town, Dade City. He was a graduate of Mercer University and Mercer University School of Law in Macon, Georgia. He was a veteran who proudly served in Vietnam. He practiced law in Dade City for several decades.
His favorite subject was history; world, national and local. He was practically a walking encyclopedia. He was the preeminent local historian. He served for many years on the City of Dade City Historic Advisory Committee. He was active in supporting community service as a long time member of the Dade City Kiwanis Club. He was of the Episcopalian faith and a dedicated member of St. Mary's in Dade City.
He was a generous and kind man, truly a southern gentleman.
He was a good friend and will be missed by many.
